Residential Conveyancing

We are here to take the stress out of buying or selling your home.

Residential Conveyancing Solicitors, Hamilton and Strathaven

Since 1933, our firm has been one of the principal house conveyancing firms in Lanarkshire. We have a reputation for providing a quality service both at the time of the transaction and after-sales, should the need arise and clients return to us again and again.

What is conveyancing?

Before a change in ownership of a property can occur, several legal requirements must be met. Conveyancing is the legal process that transfers ownership of a property from an existing owner to the new owner.

For many people, buying a property is the first (and possibly only) contact they may have with a firm of solicitors. Even for those more experienced in moving home, buying or selling can be a heady mixture of stress and excitement. In such circumstances, having an experienced legal partner by one’s side is essential.

While some parts of transactions are handled by experienced paralegals, one of senior solicitors always has some direct involvement, supervises and is in overall charge of the transaction, and is contactable by our client as and when the need arises.

Why choose John Jackson & Dick to look after your conveyancing?

Trusted by clients since 1933, we offer a comprehensive and expert conveyancing service.

There are a number of firms that offer conveyancing services. Some may even appear cheaper. However, we offer value for money that cannot be bettered. Our legal pedigree is supported by the latest technology to streamline administrative processes. At the same time the process is always quality assured by one of the senior solicitors.

In handling sales, we work with any estate agent, although we believe we can provide a better service where we work in conjunction with our own estate agency department. We are not reliant on referrals from large estate agency firms, which might compromise our ability to provide independent advice.

As in all areas of work, we aim to charge competitive fees reflecting the level of expertise and service provided, but also representing good value for clients.
